This is an exciting time for the Springfield STARS as we upgrade our web site. Please return often as we bring over content and add new items as well.

Meetings are in the Tolman Auditorium of the Springfield Science Museum on Edwards Street in Springfield. We meet on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7 pm from September to May. The January and February meetings are on Zoom.

The next club meeting is on May 28th.

  1. Hello! I’m interested in joining your club. I am new to the area and have been looking for an astronomy group for some time.

  2. Hi I am the Library Director of the Young Men’s Library in Ware. We are trying to arrange a program on eclipses to tie into the April eclipse. We have received eclipse glasses from StarNet and part of the terms of receiving them is holding related programming. We have a small meeting room that can hold about 25 people, so would not be a large event. We can provide a projector for use with a computer and a screen. There is a possibility of a speaking fee and/or travel money. I was wondering if someone in your group might be interested in speaking here?

    Thanks, Heidi

  3. I’m wondering if you are doing any special programs for the April eclipse
I’m in the BSA scouting program and would like my Troop to earn a special patch
Thank you for doing the events at the Springfield museum I’ve attended it many times with my sons and other Cub Scouts

    • There will be an event at the museum on the day of the eclipse:
Solar Eclipse Day at the Museum April 8, 2024 from 2:30-4:00 PM

  4. Hi, my son is in high school (sophomore) and is interested in Astronomy. Is this club appropriate for that age group? The email below is his email. Thank you!

    • I am so sorry for not responding sooner. Our inbox gets flooded with spam and sometimes things get lost.

I would be happy to accept your donation on behalf of the club. I am traveling this week, but would be happy to arrange a meeting with you sometime after May 14th.

You can reach me via my outreach email at outreach@reflector.org.

  5. Hello. I live in Chicopee and am an amateur astronomer and astrophotographer. I am interested in learning more about the Springfield Stars Club and membership with the club. I have gone through several telescopes and astrophotography rigs in the last 5 years and i have learned much about the hobby through online articles, videos, and general trial and error. i am interested in meeting like minded local people in the hobby to expand my knowledge and possibly offer knowledge through my own experiences. Is April 23rd the next meeting? If so, i would like to plan to attend and see what the club is all about. Any additional info you can provide is appreciated.
